I’ve noticed a faint smell of fumes in my 2016 Ford Explorer whenever I’m sitting at a stoplight with the windows down, and my regular mechanic said he couldn’t find anything wrong but I’m still worried because I’ve got young kids in the car. A buddy suggested I check out https:royalprinceautocare.com/service/car-exhaust-repair/ since they apparently do smoke testing to find tiny leaks that are invisible to the naked eye. Has anyone here dealt with exhaust fumes entering the cabin on an SUV? I’m trying to figure out if this is something I can ignore for a bit or if I need to get it sorted immediately. Also curious whether patching a small leak is worth it or if I should just replace the whole section from the catalytic converter back. Not looking to spend a fortune but also not trying to gas my family.
