I’ve got a 2016 IS350 that’s developed this annoying steering wheel shake whenever I brake from highway speeds, and the first shop I went to said I need new rotors and pads all around. But a buddy who works on his own cars suggested I could just get the rotors machined if they’re still thick enough, which would save me a bunch of cash. While searching for a place that actually measures rotors instead of guessing, I came across http://www.alzaabiautocare.com/lexus/lexus-brake-pads-disc-replacement and it got me wondering how many of you have tried resurfacing on a Lexus versus just replacing everything. Did the vibration come back quickly, or was it a decent temporary fix? I don’t track the car, just daily driving in Abu Dhabi traffic, so I’m trying to figure out if I should spend the extra money upfront or try the cheaper route first.
